Morocco Grief Trip

A grief retreat in Morocco

Max 12 participants 7-19°C

Ancient medinas, desert light, and the warmth of hammam rituals. Marrakech is vivid and alive, and at the centre of it, your riad is a quiet oasis with fountains, orange trees and a rooftop over the city. On this grief retreat, daily grief workshops are woven into a landscape that holds big emotions with ease, ending with a sunset dinner under the open desert sky.

Why Morocco, when you're grieving

Grief can make the world feel small. Morocco does the opposite: it fills the senses without demanding anything from you. The souks, the spices, the calls to prayer, life continuing everywhere, in colour.

And then there's the stillness to balance it: a traditional hammam to let your body release what it's been holding, pottery in the medina, a full day in the Agafay Desert where the horizon gives your thoughts somewhere to go. Daily grief workshops thread it together, always optional, always held by facilitators who have walked the path of loss themselves.

Day by day

Everything on the itinerary is optional: go as gently or as deeply as feels right.

Day 1
Arrive Marrakech, check in at 4pm and settle into your riad. That evening, come together for a welcome circle - your first chance to meet the group - followed by a welcome dinner at the riad.
Day 2
Morning grief workshop, followed by a guided tour through Marrakech's historic medina, including lunch and a visit to a 14th-century Islamic school.
Day 3
Engage in a hands-on Moroccan cooking class, starting with a market visit to select ingredients. Share the meal you prepare together, with the afternoon dedicated to a grief workshop and personal time.
Day 4
Experience a traditional Moroccan hammam for deep relaxation. Participate in a pottery workshop in the medina, followed by a rooftop lunch and an afternoon grief workshop.
Day 5
A full-day excursion to the Agafay Desert, offering space for reflection amidst stunning landscapes. Activities include camel riding, and a sunset dinner under the open sky.
Day 6
A slow morning with a visit to an iconic Marrakech garden. Enjoy a relaxed local lunch, followed by a final grief workshop, with the evening free for personal exploration or reflection.
